AJX - Agility Jumpers with Weaves Excellent, Third Level of Jumpers with Weaves Agility program.

AX - Agility Excellent, third level of Agility
BIS - Best In Show, Best dog at an all breed show
BISS - Best In Specialty Show, (if we took Rottweiler, then it would be) Best Rottweiler at a show where only Rottweilers compete
BOB - Best of Breed (let's take Rotties again) Best Rottweiler at an all-breed show
BOS - Best of Opposite Sex, After Best of Breed (BOB) is awarded, the bet that is the opposite sex of that BOB BOW - Best of Winners, The best between the Winners Dog (WD) and the Winners Bitch (WB)
CD - Companion Dog, Primary Obedience degree from the Novice class in Obedience. Akin to a highschool diploma.
CDX - Companion Dog Excellent, Secondary Obedience degree from the Open class in Obedience. Akin to a college diploma.
CGC - Canine Good Citizen, Very simple test of a dog's deportment, manners and temperment.
CH - Champion, Won fifteen (15) points (including at least 2 major wins) under 3 different judges. Relating to beauty, conformation (structure and movement), showmanship and breed type. Different requirements for different countries.
CT - Champion Tracker, A dog who has earned Tracking Degree (TD), Tracking Degree Excellent (TDX) and Variable Surface Tracker (VST) titles.
Gr I-IV - Group 1 through Group 4, Awarded to dogs who place First through Fourth in the Working group at an all-breed event.
HCH - Herding Champion, Title earned after completing the Herding Excellent title, earning 15 championship points in the Advanced classes with at least 2 first place wins.
HE - Herding Excellent, Titled earned after 3 qualifying legs in the Advanced Herding class.
HCH - Herding Champion, Title earned after completing the Herding excellent title, earning 15 championship points in the Advanced classes with at least 2 first place wins
HE - Herding Excellent, Title earned after 3 qualifying legs in the Advanced Herding class.
HI - Herding Intermediate, Second level of Herding titles, earned after 3 qualifying scores in the intermediate classes.
HIC - Herding Instinct Certificate, Certificate earned after passing 2 herding instinct tests
HS - Herding Started, First level at Herding trials
HT - Herding Tested, First pass/fail test; must be passed twice to earn title.
Leg - Like the "leg" of a journey, dogs competing for a Companion Dog (CD), Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) or Utility Dog (UD) Obedience title are required to earn 3 legs toward each title.
MA - Master Agility, Title earned after the Agilit Excellent (AX), with 10 qualifying runs at the Excellent level.
MAJ - The Master Agility Jumpers with Weaves, The fourth level of the Jumpers with Weaves Agility program.
Major - Refers to three-,four- or five-point shows. Computed by AKC geographically and statistically.
MX - Master Agility Excellent, Title earned after earning an Agility Excellent title and qualifying at 10 trials in the Agility Excellent class.
MXJ - Master Excellent Jumpers with Weaves, Highest level of the Jumpers program, akin to a championship.
NA - Novice Agility, First of the Agility titles.
NAJ - Novice Agility Jumpers with Weaves, First level of Agility Jumpers with Weaves division.
OA - Open Agility, Second level of Agility title.
OAJ - Open Agility Jumpers with Weaves, Second level of the Jumpers with Weaves Agility program.
OTCH - Obedience Trial Champion, Highest level of Obedience achieved. Akin to a doctorate--and then some!
Points - Zero to 5 (of 15 required) points are awarded to Winners Dog (WD) ot Winners Bitch (WB) at AKC-licensed events.
PT - Pretrial Test, Second test level in Herding.
RTD - Registered Therapy Dog Certified, Certification by a national therapy dog organization that dog has met criteria.
RWD/RWB - Reserve Winners Dog/Reserve Winners Bitch, The "second best" dog or bitch in the classes on a given day.
TD - Tracking Degree, Test of a dog's scenting and tracking ability.
TDX - Tracking Degree Excellent, Advanced Tracking Ability test.
TT - Temperament Test Certified, Certificate Awarded after an American Temperament Test Society Test.
UD - Utility Dog, Third Obedience degree from the Utility class. Akin to a master's degree.
UDX - Utility Dog Excellent, A dog has qualified in both the Open and Utility class on the same day at 10 shows.
UDT - Utility Dog Tracker, A dog has earned both Utility and Tracking Dog titles.
VST - Variable Surface Tracker, A Tracking title earned on a track that is 70 percent without vegetation.
WD/WB - Winners Dog and Winners Bitch, Winner of the male and female champion points, respectively. Health Abbreviations and Terms Found on Pedigrees CERF - Canine Eye Registration Foundation, Canine ophthalmologists test and certify eyes against genetic diseases annually. OFA - Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Canine radiologists rate and certify x-rays of hips and elbows after the age of 24 months. This is a basic requirement prior to mating.
