Dear Members of the AKC,
This is a special invitation for you to visit my newly revised Website DogtorJ.com (www.dogtorj.com), which is dedicated to the health of pets and their owners through proper nutrition. More specifically, it deals with problem foods and food additives that are playing a huge role in the development of epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, pain syndromes, chronic gastrointestinal conditions, and in the ultimate failure of the immune system. Of course, when the latter occurs, cancer rushes onto the scene.
This site is provided purely for information and has no advertisers or sponsors and there is nothing to buy. It is a collection of essays that I have written that are based on a number of years of intensive research centered around my own medical problems. By age forty five, I was on four prescription drugs twice daily and frankly not having any fun anymore. I had chronic fatigue/depression, irritable bowel, worsening allergies, headaches, heartburn, insomnia, back and joint pain, and the crowning blow, fibromyalgia. These papers explain the miraculous recovery I made that followed a medical "revelation" I had once a particular diagnosis was finally placed in my lap.
The beauty of it all is that my veterinary patients reaped tremendous benefits as well. Suddenly, chronic conditions were improving dramatically and many pets were coming off of long-term medications for the first time in years. The real "surprise" was the response in epileptic patients. One of the following papers chronicles this work in particular.
The site includes the following four papers. However, before jumping into them, I would like to direct you to my Home page where you will find an important "Welcome" message. It gives an intro to the site and a bit about me that will offer some insight into how and why this site came into being and what its mission statement is. It also gives a little more information about the papers listed below and the others items of interest that can be found on DogtorJ. com. The Home page can be reached by clicking here: www.dogtorj.com. Here are the papers (It helps to "Open" this message from your File button to view this part):
* Gluten Intolerance and Your Pet - This 4-page essay was written for the most recent newsletter of www.celiac.com in response to repeated questions concerning whether gluten intolerance occurred in pets. The answer I gave may surprise you. It can be found by clicking here: http://www.dogtorj.com/pages/556863/index.htm
* Idiopathic Epilepsy- The Dietary Solution - This paper chronicles the discovery of a dietary management idea for the epileptic. How often does it help? 100% of the time, so far. There has been significant improvement if not complete control (usual) of the epileptic applying the principles in this 10-page essay. You will understand it. It can be found by clicking here:
* Pain, Pain Go Away! - This paper is my latest offering. I call it the third in the recent trilogy. As the title implies it deals with one our least favorite symptoms, pain. It takes the reader through my personal dealings with chronic fatigue- fibromyalgia syndrome and how I conquered it. It was much more simple than you could ever imagine. However, this essay provide the reader with a good look at the physiology of pain, some insight into how your pain center works, and a laundry list of the culprits responsible for artificially loweringyour pain threshold. Some you know, some will surprise you. But, you will see the truth in all of them, or I haven't done my job....yet. It is approximately 13-pages long and can be read by click here: http://www.dogtorj.com/pages/556833/index.htm
* The Answer - This is my "flagship". It is a 40-page beast, but is very comprehensive. It would have to be to have the title of The Answer- To "Why is the Plane of Our Nation's Health in a Death Spiral?" This essay is still a work in progress as more and more data and information comes into my possession. The concepts purported in this and the other papers have become my passion and I am constantly reading and researching medical Websites textbooks, and journals for items to add to this paper. It is now at a stage that is
worth putting on the site, if you can overlook a few typos and is syntax errors don't drive you crazy. It will be polished before too long. In the meantime, there is some very valuable information in this paper, much of which ties in the other three to a neat, tidy package. It can be found by clicking here: http://www.dogtorj.com/pages/556762/index.htm
There is much more on the site and more to come. The site is in a dynamic state. The newest health craze (and justifiably so) in pet nutrition is the raw diet. I have dedicated a section to this concept and am going to let the knowledgeable breeders in the field write this section... if they want to. I am already getting some great responses and hope to fill that section with testimonies, recipes, and recommendations from all of you.
I hope you will visit the site. It's a free trip and may very well change the your life or that of your pet. It will certainly help a large number of people who are like I was medically three years ago. Neither my symptoms nor my positive response to the changes I made are unique. All it takes is a clearer understanding of the importance of food issues in our health and the motivation to do something about our symptoms, especially the chronic ones. The recurrent message in these works is that these symptoms can oftentimes be better controlled through the elimination of problem foods rather than the addition of more drugs or expensive supplements. This should be great news for most of us.
I hope this site helps your pet and you,
