TTTheTherapy Dogs
I will start how I got involved with dog therapy.
10 years ago my husband was at his final journey ,
the cancer spread. While in New York University Hospital he was
visited by two certified therapy dogs.. they made his heart sing.
the smile on his face was worth everything. I made a promise to myself
that if ever I would get another pup, it would be my time to give back.
Suzette completed certification two years ago. We make visits
to childrens hospitals and Nursing homes.
Alot of people say ,"aww thats so nice that you do that" and I respond
saying, " its the least one could do in this crazy mixed up world we live in"
Certification does not come easy.. Delta Society (where Suzette graduated from) has a strict evaluation program. Its regiment consists of socialization human and pet wise.
Tests have shown that having a dog visit with sick people lowers
their blood pressure, sometimes cures depression and generally makes them happy.
Suzette and I are happy. We are happy when we can turn sad faces into smiles..
