The 10 Commandments of Gate Listing.
I found them on top of a mountain.
A big hairy guy with a white beard will set your bush on fire if these rules are ignored

1) Gate List requests must be received by 10:00pm on the Wednesday prior to the weekend requested. Late requests cannot be honored.

2) Your request must include full names (first and last, as shown on id). Also make note if guest is a minor. (Please note:Pparticipants are required to show proper identification, Driver's License or student ID, to be admitted through the pass gate.)

3) Email your request to my hotmail address ONLY. Do not post requests to the message board.

4) The Gate List is only for those who will be participating, in appropriate costume, in Clan MacColin activities.

5) You are responsible to see that any individuals you gate list are costumed in an acceptable fashion.

6) You are repsonsible to see to it that, upon arrival, the individuals you gate list check in with whomever is holding the daily roster. You must do the same when they depart.

7) As a matter of courtesy and utility, introduce your guests to your immediate superiors.

8) You are responsible for any household fees (lunch, etc) your guests may incur.

9) It is my expectation that your guests will be available for some duty. It is your obligation as their sponsor to see them through this as part of their introduction to our clan life.

10) The Gate List is used to introduce prospective member/participants to our activities and for essential personnel who have not completed the paperwork required for a Gate Pass. The Gate List is not for those whom you wish to treat to a free day at faire. Your mom, dad and other family members, significant others and work/school chums can be brought into faire by means of Participant Tickets. These can be purchased at the front gate and left at the Will Call window.

As to todays uproars... Don't Panic.  I Repeat; Don't Panic.  The Panic Light has been extinguished.  We have at least two, maybe three events to get through before this crisis is to be tackled.  With all the rain we have and continue to have we could'nt effectively address getting in there anyway.  That is assuming we could get gate access to the joint.  Wait and see.  As soon as I have info I will pass it along. There is word of a guildmaster meeting in the near future. Now lets get on with Hogmany.

A declamatory message: Please put your real name one the ID section of this thing before St. Paddy's Day. Or your listing will be removed. Fix it now while your thinking about it. S

ya'all have 2hrs. for the memorial day weekend  gatelist.  I remind you  that to be gatelisting someone you must have approvible costuming for them as well as pay for a weekend of toilet use/meals.  remember there are about $22.00 in Company fees for the weekend.(camping and temp gatepass).  Also your gatelisters are expected to be availible for general labour and to stay til closing.  For some your purchase of a participant ticket for them would be easier.

I will be leaving for the site in about an hour (2pm Thursday)  You can reach me at Faire site on my cell phone.  If you can come tomorrow, please arrive before 9am.  Bring your beverages and food.  I will be providing lunch for those who said they would be there at last Sunday's notes. You are welcome to come this evening and spend the night if you wish.

Hello one and all,
If you are not planning to be out on Friday to help your kinsmen make "magic", Then be there and check in no laterthan 8:30 am.  I expect that you will be dressed and ready to go by 9:00 am.  Or you will be marked tardy. ( and remember two tardies and you get detention).  Which of course go on your permenant record!

Please be aware that it may rain on Saturday; but it will clear fully before evening.   And please bring clothes suitable to the day.  Come what may, expect that we will open anyway.

I am reminded by the Tainste that show participants need to get their inhouse costume approvals do this weekend.  This allows corrections to be made before our guild approvals.

On this topic.  This an always stressful area. It might not be if you sought your advice and approvals earlier in the year.
Remember  this standard you are being held to is my will, executed by my authority in this matter.  That is this stuff is not just made up on the spot, but is the result of near continuious discussion for 25 plus years; Through Three Chiefs and about five Costume Standardizing authorities;  appointed by those three Chiefs.  So keep the word of you oath and comply.  Without whining and without equivocation.  Any questions?

Further weather info for the 2d weekend of workshops.  As a preface to these remarks, let me say that there is no reporting weather stationin Devore and we know that this is it own unique environment.  Ontario reports no rain on Saturday, Saturday night or Sunday until Sunday evening and then at 20 percent chance.  With the likelyhood increasing thereafter into Monday early with certainty. The humidity is very high and if the clouds come in low and stick against the mountain, all bets are off.  In other words, come prepared for rain.  Veterans will tell you that you should anyway.  Come prepared for any weather, It may just happen.  Please let me know if you arew reading me on this thing.  I believe you are to respond on the General Board.  See you all in the morning.
