Sunshine Committee

 

The purpose of our Sunshine Committee is to express concern to any member who experiences a loss or an illness.

We send cards to members who need them and we make Sunshine Heart Quilts for any member who is seriously ill or hospitalized.

Sunshine Heart Quilts:  We ask all members to contribute a few heart blocks each year.  Here is what you need to do: 

Heart Blocks: On a 7 1/2 " square of muslin, machine or hand applique a heart of any size or shape.  Be sure not to make it too big since the square will be cut down to a 7" block.  Sign your block if you wish and bring it to a Guild Meeting.  (There is always a box or basket on the Membership table for them).  These small blocks are a great chance to practice your applique skills and try new embellishment techniques.

These blocks are then made into lap size quilts for members who need them.
