October 5, 1999 -- Hong Kong
Dear Everyone,
I'm in Hong Kong now. After Japan, all the Asian countries will come in quick succession, which is not good for us. We need more than 3 days between ports to get our stories edited. So we're a bit behind now, hoping to catch up on the next leg.
Japan was great. We spent three whole days in Kyoto, visiting some of the ancient sites. Our two reporters even went to this place to dress up as geishas. That was a hoot. But I was a bit stressed because we were producing our first story, and I wasn't completely confident we could get everything. In any case, we got back to the ship safely and I was happy to see it again. It's strange to think that it's our home now.
In a few minutes, we'll be going out to shoot a story about supersitition. That should be fun too. I'm just hoping the typhoon brewing off the coast won't hit us anytime soon.
