Mind, Body and Soul

By Nancy Hasset Dahm.
Written by an RN who specializes in cancer care, this book is a must read for both the cancer patient and their family.  It is written in such a caring tone and yet is so full of practical information.  The author transcends the written page and symbollically holds the reader's hand.  The book takes us through the cancer journey giving in-depth information on managing treatment symptoms, pain, giving and receiving quality care, overcoming stress and fear.  There are also chapters on new advances in cancer treatment, examples of miracles, how to receive free hospitalization, low cost prescriptions, supplies and informaion on support organizations. I highly recommend it.  Available at www.amazon.com and you can visit the author's website at: www.cancerbook.com.  Hope this helps!

Nothing to Fear, The Key to Cancer Survival

By Larry Burkett.
A Christian book, touted as, "A Crash Course on Cancer Survival".  The author says he was diagnosed with cancer in 1995 and after thenlearned more about cancer than he ever wanted to know! ( I know the feeling).
Larry Burkett was a best-selling author and national radio personality.
In this book he deals with faith versus fear, the importance of finding the right treatment for your cancer, alternative therapies for cancer patients, and much more.  Larry died in about 2003, of heart problems but cancer free
My husband and I were very impressed with this one and another he wrote ,  "Damaged But Not Broken", his personal testimony of how to deal with the impact of cancer.

When The Last Leaf Falls

By Bill Meyers. As the cover says: "An unforgetable love story between father and daughter". The father, a Pastor thinks he has all the answers until his teenage daughter is diagnosed with cancer. A Novella. A christian book, that helps you realize that after all is said and done for our loved ones with cancer, we can only be sure of one thing....God's Love for them and us. This book blessed me and gave me a new perspective on my faith and trusting in God's will. Recommended by MSN Nicknamecottonpatch1953, 9/21/2005.
