1) The Want Ads (General message board): The Ads are fully read through and updated as often as possible. Sometimes it's weekly, sometimes monthly, sometimes longer, but periodically it does get done. There are only two moderators and at least 100 of you, but we will try to keep up and fix things as needed.
Please post your message using your group's title as the subject line, and include ALL important information about your RPG. Important information includes the group's address, details about the RPG's storyline, and a list of what characters you need; or if that list is too long, what characters you already have. It helps a lot to know which group each item on the board is for, instead of having several named "My RPG" or some such. They are all someone's RPGs, please be more specific. If you do not have the RPG name as the thread title, the thread will be taken down and re-posted unless we can't figure out what the RPG title is.
We're trying to keep all the same RPG posts on the same thread. If you wish to bump your group to the top of the boards, please do so by posting further information on the same thread, not by starting a brand new thread for your RPG, or one of them will be deleted. Any new information will be added to your old thread. If there are multiple threads for the same RPG, it may frustrate people looking for a group.
We are also trying to keep all relevant information together, so from time to time you may notice some re-posting and management blah. We want to keep the message boards as clean and organized as possible, and we need your help in this. The main benefit of doing this is so players can find what they want quickly and with a minimum of fuss.
Groups that are NOT PERMITTED include non-Buffyverse groups (though crossovers are peachy), both general or specialized (shipper) discussion groups (though all these are allowed on the Seeking Board) and Buffy/Angel/real life crossover groups. *NEW* Any posting of p0rn links, questionable content, or spam is subject to immediate deletion and permanent membership banning. Do not pretent you are not aware of this, and do not complain about it if I ban you. This is an open community and this will not be tolerated. Adult RPGs are to be specifically marked as such or they will also be subject to deletion.
2) The Seeking Board: If you are looking to play a certain character, you are not permitted to start a thread on the Want Ads board asking if any RPG has that character available. Please take the time to look through the Want Ads; that's what they are for! However, if you want to try posting to see if anyone needs a certain character, you are permitted to post a thread on the Seeking board. Just a little reminder, though: not all of the managers will be looking at your thread, and you might miss out on an RPG that has an opening for the character you want if you don't look yourself.
The Seeking board can also be used for general discussion, say, about Buffy and Angel, the actors, RPGs, whatever else. This Board will not be moderated in the same fashion as the Want Ads Board. The only rules are no flaming of other members and no bad-mouthing any of the actors/writers. If you have a negative comment about the show(s), please do not make it into a personal attack. Be respectful of others, if you break this rule you will be placed on warning and the offending post will be deleted as soon as possible. If it happens again, you will be banned from the group. Please follow the rules, they are quite simple, I like you all and do not want to be forced to ban you.
3) The Links: We would ideally like to have a link to every RPG here listed in the Links section. Try to do this the day you post a Want Ad on the message board about your group. Please read through the Links periodically and make any necessary changes to yours as needed. If your summary is overly long, they will be edited by me. Keep it short and sweet!! ^__^ If you have a banner or button for your site, feel free to use it! *NEW* We will no longer be making Links for you. If you want one, feel free to add it in. If you don't, that's cool too. I just like them because it's the easiest way for me to keep track of how many active groups we have here.
4) Photos: We have the site banners up in there, but you can use the Photo space, too! Put up a photo that's relevant to your RPG! People relate well to pictures, and they can be used to draw attention to your group. We have a great deal of tools at our disposal here, and it'd be cool if we used them all.
5) Warning Status: We've mentioned Warning status a couple times above. Here's where we really get into how you get on Warning and how to get off Warning status.
The first way to be placed on Warning status is by not following the guidelines for the Want Ads. Remember to include ALL important information about your RPG. Again, this includes the group's address, details about the RPG's storyline, and a list of what characters you need or have, whichever is shorter. The second way to be placed on Warning is by failing to follow the rules for the Seeking Board. Above all this means respect your fellow posters.
If you are placed on Warning as set in the first scenario, the warning peroid lasts for two weeks, with the first notification of warning going into the site's update thread. The second warning is a private, off-list email by one of the managers, and if we do not have complete information by the third week, your group will be deleted. If you are placed on Warning for the second scenario, your warning period is indefinate. The offending post will be deleted as soon as possible, and you will be notified strictly off-list of your warning status. This is a two-strikes type deal. It happens once, you are on Warning. It happens twice, and you will be banned from the club, no exceptions.
6) Getting More Players: As you can tell, it's always harder to find players than RPGs. Some people are RPG nuts, the kind of people who can never be in enough groups and always have time for active participation. I don't know how they do it, but I know they exist. I am going to make a suggestion, but keep in mind you do not have to follow it. If you wouldn't mind sharing your more active players, tell them about this site! Lots of these groups are just starting out or re-starting and have many open roles, while others only have a couple empty spots in their groups. Help each other out, or spread the word at other RPG spots. Add the Want Ads banner to your site, or get your friends to put it up on thiers.
