Meet Peg
Peg is more than qualified to be the Blood Diseases Support Manager. She is a retired health care worker.Peg took care of children with blood and cancer problems for over 40 years.
She has a blood disease called Dense Granule Deficiency of the platelets (a hereditary bleeding problem). Peg also has autoimmune disorders (Rheumatioid arthritis and episcleritis), and disorders of aging (osteoarthritis and partial but progressive loss of hearing) with the neuropathy complications of these conditions (carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatic neuropathy).
Peg with the help of Starr hosts the Friday blood diseases chat, where she is the life of the party and full of information.
Peg has been married for 47 years to Gordon. Gordon has had 2 coronary bypass surgeries over the pass 21 years and also has Diabetes Mellitus, Type II. His diabetes is controlled by diet and a couple of pills so far.
Meet Starr
I am a homemaker who can't work outside the home do to a back problem. I was a paramedic fire fighter for 4 years. I have a clotting problem also that has caused 3 strokes, lucky for me the damage was minimal. Since my strokes I now suffer with chronic migranes. I am diabetic I take 2 pills for it no insulin injectoins yet. I have high blood pressure also. I have kidney stones also which i have had to have broken up several times. The list goes on.
I have a very supportive hubsand and three great kids who understand mom is ill and needs their help sometimes. I am so glad to be hosting the Friday night chat with Peg.
