B5 operates with synthetic and sampled sounds to generate clear melodies. Year 1990 B5 introduced its technature-method of using bird voices & other natural samples: not only are some melodies played by sampled voices, but also some of them are originally composed by wild creatures living somewhere out there. B5 has not performed live, but its songs have been reproduced by Motacilla, Viola & Vompatti, the last one performing also live.

1983 Pier Pauke - acoustic age. The Karwin siblings started the whole thing with shoebox percussion, piano, four-stringed acoustic guitar & two cassette recorders. The very first songs Eka biisi & Toka biisi ("The first song" & "The second song") were cheap and fast productions.

1984 Murtit - electric age. The Karwins continued with their first "synth" (Casio PT-30). Songs composed by using keyboard memory. The first programmed masterpiece (with acoustic percussion): Rarien synty ("Origin of the raritees").

1987 - Beta5 - digital age. Synths, sampler, drum machine & fourtrack recorder. The first-ever B5 song was Jaakentat ("Icefields"). It is going to be released in forthcoming B5 cassette Baltika.

2003 - virtual age. Computer programmes. The first title to be put up on a desktop computer was Protan man for the forthcoming cassette Kupo. The first handheld computed product was Origin of the raritees (nokiamix) for the forthcoming cassette The greatest hit.
