| True Christians AvG gets many Christians all claiming to be the real thing. They say their message is the correct interpretation of what the Bible says. They seem to have found the Lord and are truly happy. They genuinely want to share their happiness with others who are still searching. This is their mission from God.
As one still searching for the truth, It is vital that I look at the claims made by Christians. It would be foolish of me to look at all possible claims of the Truth but ignore Christianity.
But I have a dilemma, There are hundreds of different versions of Christianity, many contradictory, some do not tally with the Bible, some do not tally with observed evidence and some just plain refuse to justify themselves.
Jesus said:-
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves." (Matt 7:15)
"Then if any man shall say to you Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here, believe it not. For there shall arise false Christ's and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the very elect." (Matt. 24:23-24)
In John we read
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." 1John 4:1
These are indeed wise words from the Bible.
However, How am I to decide who are the false prophets and who are the real Christians. Many Christians will say that only about 10% of people claiming to be Christians are the real thing. If I just pick any Christian and believe what they say is the correct way, I have a 90% chance of picking a false prophet who will lead me directly to Hell.
We have many varieties of Christian dogma stated here in AvG. 90% of this must be from false Christians but not one of the Christians will agree that they are a false prophet.
In John, it clearly states that I should not believe them all, I must test them to see which ones are really from God. If I am to be saved, It is imperative that I ascertain which Christians here are the real thing. If I am to listen to the Truth then I owe it to myself to hear it from a True Christian and not some demon from Hell disguised as an Angel.
Jesus has made very clear the terrible consequences of following the Serpent and his followers. So it is doubly critical that I weed out the False Prophets.
The Bible says:-
Therefore by their fruits shall you know them. Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me in that day Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by your name and by your name cast out demons, and by your name do many mighty works? And I will profess to them, I never knew you. Go away from me you who work evil. Matt 7:22-23
Wise words again from the Bible.
It is clear, Many who profess to be Christians will be judged false. I personally do not want to make the mistake of following someone to eternal damnation.
So, How do I decide?
In order to get the authoritive answer about Christianity, there is only one source, Jesus.
Either Christianity is True, or it is False. If it is false, then we don't need to seriously consider it from any self-proclaimed Christian. If it is True, then the only way to sift through all the different dogmas, denominations, creeds and doctrines is with the guidance of the founder himself. The word of self proclaimed Christians can not be trusted here because many of them will give false testimony.
I have been provided with a test that relies on the words of Jesus and not the individuals interpretation.
First I need to know if you are spirit filled. Do you display ALL of the fruits of the Spirit as defined in Galatians 5:22-25:. love, joy, peace, happiness, etc.
Next I need to know if you believe the Bible? If you don't then you are clearly rejected at this point.
As already described, Jesus is recorded as having made it quite clear that there would be people claiming to preach for Christ but who had nothing whatsoever to do with him. Luckily for us, Jesus also provided clear tests for us to make sure about whom we are dealing with. Jesus did not lay down a lot of specific demands for his followers, but those he did mention can be readily used. For example:
Matt. 5:39-42
But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Luke 6:30
Give to everyone that asketh thee; and from him that taketh away thy goods ask not again
Luke 6:34-35
If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, and do them good, and lend never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be Sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
This is the crunch:- I need to see if you talk the talk AND walk the walk as specified in Galatians 5:25 If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.
Now I'm not doing this for personal gain, I am financially comfortable, I am doing this to see if you are a real Christian or a False Prophet who is just talking the word but does not live by the word. It is vital that I know who the Real Christians are. My Salvation is far more important to me than money.
I need all the people here claiming to be real Christians to send me $1000.00 (US) or £650.00 (UK) by personal check or in cash. Now I could have been greedy and asked for everything you have but that would be unfair to deprive the Real Christians of the means to support their loved ones. Obviously the False Christians who do not follow the word of Jesus will not send anything contrary to the instructions of Jesus.
So, If you truly Walk in the spirit of the Lord then you can contact me by Email to get an address to send the money. If your faith is not worth $1000 then I'm afraid I can not listen to anything you say because you are a false prophet destined for Hell.
Therefore by their fruits shall you know them.
Update This was quite a remarkable thread. In the first 102 posts we conclusively uncovered 2 genuine False Prophets (Still protesting their innocence). Still full of pride and self righteousness. Serious doubt was brought to bear on many of the other Christians claiming to be the real thing. To witness the uncovering of 2 false Christians, follow the early dialogs between Sinbad, Mr Wonder and Phoenix. We did find one Real Christian:- I won't make him the object of hate by naming him.

It came with a 3 page covering letter.
This letter was one of the most sincere, non-judgmental, warm letters I have ever received from any Christian.
This person has searched his soul and made a great sacrifice to actively do as Jesus wished.
This person talks the talk and Walks the Walk.
This Person, I believe is a True Christian.
I will shortly be entering into a dialogue with this person because I believe I will get the real info on what Christianity is all about from a REAL Christian.
The rest of you have been put to shame.
