AvG Site Guidelines AvG Topics should be used as follows: | Topic | Code of Conduct | | General | General Informal discussion on any topic. Rock Throwing is tolerated in this topic. This is where the most of the action is. | | Rock Throwing | General Discussions where anything goes (Rock throwing is encouraged), so long as you don't say anything that will get the community shut down by MSN. If you are going to whinge about people being rude, then don't participate in any of the Rock Throwing topics. | | Formal Debate | This is for Formal Debate Topics. Criticisms are allowed but Rock Throwing is not generaly acceptable. Also, No Preaching, Evangelising, Sermons or excessive chit-chat. Stick to the subject while in these topics. Serious debate only. | | Humour | Post your funny Pics and Jokes here. | | All Messages | This allows you to see a list of all messages from all the above Topic Areas. Be carefull when relying to messages using this view, MSN provides no indication of which topic a message was originally posted in. Always make sure you are responding appropriately. | Deletions are rare in AvG but the Managers will delete for the following reasons: -

Persistent breeches of the MSN code of conduct. -
Excessive profanity. -

Posting from your Inbox. If you can't be bothered coming to the site to post, then don't post at all. MSN will close down sites that breech their guidelines. Any post that could cause MSN to shut down this site may be deleted at the managers discretion. The 10 Commandments -
1) Please abide by the MSN Communities terms of use. -

2) Easy on the profanity please. This group is rated "mature" but does not display the MSN adult content warning. -

3) Try to stick to the subject of the discussion thread. If a new debating point arises, start a new discussion thread. -

4) Try not to start a new discussion thread on a topic already being discussed. -

5) If you would like me to add a new topic or you don’t know where to start a new discussion, just ask. -

6) If you start a new discussion, do not title it "NEW GUY HERE", give it a title that reflects what it is about. We will know you are here soon enough. -

7) Don’t post long sermons, If you have an issue to debate then do so, If you just want to make a public declaration of your faith, do it elsewhere. These posts will be deleted. -

8) Don’t cut and paste large blocks of text from other web sites, Just paste a link. -

9) If you copy text from a web site or a Word document and paste it into the message window you will often get a post corrupted with additional HTML code. To avoid this, paste it into your PC's notepad first, then recopy from notepad. This will get rid of any hidden HTML that you copied. -

10) Name-calling, sarcasm, patronising and provocation are all fine by me in the Rock Throwing Topics. But don’t do it if you can’t handle a reciprocal response. Please remember, the community managers do have a life outside this community and can't always respond immediately.
Accessing AvG via Email. I am getting a little sick and tired of people complaining about receiving all AvG posts in their Email inbox. This is an option that YOU have selected. either when you joined this group or by clicking "Send Replies to My Inbox" in a message thread. The managers can not change this option for you. This is your own private setting and can not be accessed by anyone else. If you are getting unwanted messages in your inbox, it is your own fault, YOU chose this option. If you are so stupid that you can not figure out how to remove this feature yourself, read this:- In the Left Hand Menu bar, click on [Member Tools]
Now click on [Check Your E-mail Settings] Look for the heading "Messages".
There are 3 options: - Please do NOT post messages to AvG message boards via Email. Your Email program will probably append a footer message to your original. Additionally you may inadvertently include the message you are replying to. This is extremely irritating for people who have to read the original message then read it again because it is included in your reply. Posts like this will be deleted simply because they are extremely irritating.
