Cath - FishWebMaster E-mail me at Fishkeeping@Verizon.Net "Hey everyone, I am the founder and general manager of this community, created on 3-31-02. I also own the website that started this whole thing www.tropicalfishkeeping.com and it has been up and running since March of 1997. It has had More than 2,000,000 visitors since it's inception. Kudos...to Lyretail, Dtop, & others who run this whole thing...THEY deserve the credit these days for keeping this whole community going!!! | | Head Fish In Charge, Curtis AKA "LyreTail" E-mail me at curtisbkr@earthlink.net I Learn something new everyday mostly from the questions we get asked by members. I try to help eliminate some of the confusion and conflicting advice that seems prevalent in the hobby today, primarily by looking at some of the bio chemistry and science behind our fishy Friends. I will try to help you as much as I can. I spawn Tetras, Dwarf Cichlids, Angel Fish and Lyre tail Swords and have 6 successfully planted tanks. I had 20 tanks ranging from 75 US gallon down to 10 US gallons but have now reduced that amount to about 12 running tanks. I have always concentrated on raising freshwater fish and plants. I have have never had, nor do have any affiliation with any part of the fish keeping industry except to provide attractive, healthy and happy fish to my local independent pet stores. My day job is an Aerospace computer Machinist. | | Associate Fish In Charge, John AKA "DTop" Email me at bigflf@hotmail.com I have been in the hobby for many (over 40) years. I have also been in the fish business at both the retail and wholesale ends. I still enjoy helping people whenever and however I can. So if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask. | | Associate Fish In Charge... Ocean - "AtlanticOceanGirl" I have over 35 years of fish keeping experience. Because the hobby of aquariums is always changing, and we are always gaining new insight and knowledge, we all have more and more to learn. I am hoping that the expansion of knowledge base in the hobby will continue to make things easier for all of us, and enable us to take the hobby where we never thought we could! My profession is RNC, which means that my major was in nursing, and my minor, and specialty is Psych/Neuro. I am also a Reiki Master/Teacher (which is an ancient energy healing art from the far East, but is not affiliated with Eastern Religion in any way). I started off in college, going toward a degree in Biology, but after deciding that I could not get a career that I wanted in that in my area, I switched my major to nursing. So, I know a bit about the sciences and medicine. | | Associate Fish In Charge, Rob AKA "NZCardinal" E-mail me at erobjt@hotmail.com I am based in Hamilton, New Zealand. My involvement in tropical fish keeping specializes in oddballs and unusual freshwater tropical fish. I have been involved in breeding some species of fish, notably albino kribensis. I personally strive to make the hobby of fish keeping as least complicated as it can be, but recognise that problems can arise and diseases need to be swiftly dealt with. The only other pets I keep other than tropical fish are a pair of mean red-eared terrapins which the original owner could no longer look after. I humbly admit I have a great deal still to learn about the hobby, but I can offer useful advice about new tanks and compatibility issues, in addition to information about some oddball species. Outside of the fishkeeping world, I co-host a radio show, I'm involved in politics, I write short stories and articles about current affairs, and I work as a table-games dealer at a casino. I love my job, where else can you get paid to play games? | |
