AAMA Receives 2003 Awards of Excellence Both the Tinkering Times Editor, Scott Hulse, and AAMA's website Webmaster, Greg Lear, have received the '2003 Award of Excellence' . This is a great honor and reflects the hard work of all members that have contributed to our club's publications. The national organization AACA's Publications Committee meets in December to select winners in four categories: Award of Merit, Award of Distinction, Award of Excellence, and the highest award, the Master Editor and Master Webmaster award. There may be multiple winners in each of the four categories. The selection process is based on subjective evaluation of the newsletter and website, which is judged on its value to the region, originality, interest, timeliness, plan of presentation, and overall quality. The most heavily weighted criterion is the effort to serve the needs of club members. The Master Editor award was received by AAMA's editor Tom Cresap for years 1994 - 2000 and the Master Webmaster award was received by AAMA's webmaster Greg Lear in 2002. Tinkering Times has received the Award of Excellence for 10 years since 1994. Started in March 2001 the AAMA website receives this award in its first, second and third year of publication. Most recently the Award of Distinction for 2007 was received. Thank you AACA for these honors.
