5/17/08 Fixed a few things about the "About the Arrival" page.

7/25/03 Added Matt Dunster's Study Guide for "Jerks!" (aka "The Arrival")

1/14/03 Finally fixed all my links.  More progress to come?

5/17/02 - Added a link to the Bad Astronomy web page (under resources for teachers)

2/15/02 - I fixed more links, added recommendations for Chasing Science and Borderlands of Science, added a list of author websites, added some information about SF magazines, and added a Resources for Teachers page; also added link to Alberto Monteiro's web page

12/17/01 and 1/25/02 - I found out that MSN has changed the URLs of my internal links but not changed the references to those links, so I've been updating the links in each page, laborously and intermittently.  If you can't get an internal link to work, try looking at the list of pages on the left - you should be able to figure it out from there (and feel free to notify me where I still have broken links).

8/31/01              It's been a long time, hasn't it.  I added my 2001 Worldcon "SF Fact or Fancy" handout, a page about Heinlein's juveniles and a rebuttal to some unwarranted criticism of Nancy Kress's Yanked! to the pages

12/15/00            Added link from "SF Themes Page" to Prediction page.  Edited some more of the typographical glitches out of "The Arrival" - I've got about half of them fixed now.

12/13/00            Added page on "Where Do We Go From Here" (book), page on "SF and Prediction," and a link to an online (partial) version of "Neutron Star" in the study guide top page.

11/19/00            Added a page with the WOW nominees.

11/18/00            Fixed link to Golden Ducks.

11/13/00            Added better contact information (to deal with the fact that my home e-mail address is losing messages), added a link to the Golden Duck awards, fixed a couple of typos, and made room for some future additions.

10/23/00            As part of the continuing effort to make the corrections to the page that I've been eager but unable to make for months, today I fixed a couple of typos on the "Flashcrowd" page; thank you to Tennant Stuart for pointing one of them out, several months ago.

10/22/00            On July 17, 2000 I lost the ability to edit these pages; thankfully on October 20, 2000, I got my edit authority back.  So far, I've corrected the mistake in my email address, updated the home page also to note that this page won the Webs of Wonder contest (along with James Van Pelt's page), and changed the name of "Jerks" to "The Arrival," everywhere but in the Word file in the File cabinet.  Over the next few weeks I hope to make all the changes I've been unable to make for three months.  Comments are welcome - I've already got a few I haven't been able to respond to until now; please be patient.

7/16/00              Finally fixed the figures on the "Tides" page.  Updated links to Ted Scribner's page and a few other links.

7/1/00                Added "Time Travel," "Problem of Leisure", "Eight Worlds", "Vis-Viva equation", "Displacement Booth".  Updated "Flash Crowd" study guide.  Updated various links and rearranged list of pages in left hand column.  Added "Tides" page, but it still isn't quite right.  Updates will be coming somewhat less frequently in the future but I still expect to do a little bit each week - more study guides, more links, and more public domain stories too.

6/29/00              Put "Jerks" in HTML on another page; added descriptive material.  Added "Mushroom Planet" page and "Generation Gap" page; also added partial study guide for "Flash Crowd"

6/28/00              Uploaded "Jerks" - the story by Matt Dunster to the File Cabinet.

6/27/00              Added recommendations for "People" stories and "Out of Time" series; added "Post-Apocalypse" page and organized "SF Themes" page.

6/26/00              Fixed the Evolution Simulation page, completed "Neutron Star" study guide, added "Artificial Gravity" page.

6/25/00              Added "Problem Story" and "Cyberspace/Cyberpunk" pages and corrected reference in "Shared Universe" page (Gregory Benford, not Greg Bear).

6/23/00             Added "Shared Universe" page and a recommendation for Resnick's Africa books.

6/22/00            Added a link to a David Brin essay on the Meme page (thanks David for your permission to do so).

6/21/00            Added "Meme," "Nanotechnology," and "Robotics" pages, added to "Neutron Star" study guide (slightly), and reorganized pages.  WOW page still doesn't list this page as entry.  Investigating...

6/15/00            Figured out how to upload the rest of the MATLAB code; added "Time for Beany" link and "Strangeness" page.  Entered page in WOW contest

6/14/00             Improved Evolution Simulation page (including replacing some but not all of bad illustrations).  Tried to finish uploading MATLAB code; some glitch prevented.  Added link from SF Terms to Singularity page.  Added Tanstaafl page.  Added stuff to "Neutron Star" study guide.

6/13/00             Added my e-mail address, added "Singularity" page, experimenting with improving illustrations

6/11/00             Added genetics information for "Three Hearings" study guide, uploaded most of the MATLAB files needed for evolution simulation, added simulation results (I'm not satisfied with the figures yet).  Added retcon definition, removed link to "Three Hearings" text.

6/8/00               Added definition of "sapient" etc., rearranged Future History pages, added quick link to Carol.

6/7/00               Recommendation for the "Phoenix Trilogy" added in newly created "Brief Recommendations section", reference to Brin story in "Secret History" section corrected, new coin flip information added, and at the recommendation of Carol Philips and Don Eddins, some more of the questions for students in the "Three Hearings..." study guide are answered.

6/6/00               "Fandom" page and start of "Neutron Star" study guide added.  Random errors from yesterday corrected (as usual).  Left hand column stuff reorganized.

6/5/00               "Secret History" page added.  Welcome page reorganized.  More information about my interests added.  "What is SF" page revised slightly.

6/4/00               "Future History" page changes, "Alternate History" and "What is SF?" pages added; most "hidden pages" unhidden for convenience in editing.  Welcome page shortened, will have to be rearranged tomorrow.

6/3/00               Rearrangement of pages, "Future History" Page added.  Pages "hidden" from left hand column.

6/2/00               Coin flip calculation equations corrected by additions of figures, James Alan Gardner home page address corrected. Reference to "Physics in SF" talk added.  List of changes page added (right here).

6/1/00               Study guide to “Three Hearings on the Existence of Snakes in the Human Bloodstream” added.  "Coin Flip" calculations added, but equations not working.

5/31/00            Web page gets its introductory notes.

5/30/00            Web page created – no content yet.

5/29/00             I get Internet access.
