PROLAPSE OF THE UTERUS OR VAGINA

This often occurs when the muscles or Ligaments that hold the vagina and uterus in place weaken,This can be caused by a few reasons, ie: Childbirth, Age, The effect being the weaker the muscles or ligaments get increases the risk of the uterus to put pressure on the rectum or bladder.

Side effects being, ie:a very heavy uncomfortable feeling in the lower abdomin, backache is very common, bladder problems such as not being able to get to the toilet on time or having problems emptying bladder. Also constipation symptoms such as feeling discomfort when passing stools or having to strain. These common side effects are apparant as the muscles and ligaments start to weaken.

IMPORTANT NOTE

UTERUS COMPLETLEY COLLAPSED

A very large part of the uterus or vagina could actually become visible right through the vaginal opening, This would certainley cause soreness and possibly ulceration and a very open chance of infection.

 (HELP AT HAND)

Pelvic exercises

Like those you receive after giving birth from your health visitor or midwife, These are very simple exercises and very beneficial in the long term, Although at the time you may find you just cant manage to do them after giving birth or just cant find the time, it can avoid alot of discomfort later on and may even prevent the above happening. As the main objective is to restore the muscle strength and tone which holds the vagina and uterus inplace.

Surgery is often very sucessful to tighten the pelvic floor if simple pelvic excercise has not worked,The better condition of the uterus would most definateley benefit and increase your chances of conceiving and carrying a baby to term, Because if the wall of the uterus is weak it would be more harder for a healthy implantation to take place.

Dont ignore any of the side effects listed above at the beginning of this topic if you are having problems ttc for a second child, get advice and start getting that body into tone.It could save alot of waiting and disapointment.

Most definateley help is at hand as with all we discussions on this page covering uterus issues.
