Firefighters - Policemen

The Ultimate Sacrifice

Young Hero

On September 11, 2001 terrorists attacked the United States, killing thousands of Americans as well as citizens of other nations working in New York. Three hundred brave Firefighters, (as well as many Police, Paramedics and business people), lost their lives saving others. I saw a photo of a stairwell at the World Trade Center showing people going down evacuating the building and a young firefighter climbing the stairs to help others.  This image burns in my head knowing that this young firefighter is certainly among the casualties. These men and women willingly met death as soldiers in a new type of war to protect and defend the great United States against those that envy America's accomplishments.

Then and Now

This Ice statue was sculpted by a lady in Timmins, Ontario, Canada for their winter carnival. Needless to say she won first prize. Look at the firefighters hands holding the American flag.  This shows that the entire sculpture is made of ice. The picture that inspired this work of Art is pictured below.

This surreal photo was taken by a tourist to Manhatten, New York July 2001
